Halloween and everything that goes with it has come and passed (including that whole 5 Things idea- what a bust!). Suddenly it turns to Deep Fall, which here means less cool days than warm ones, it's finally okay to rake as most leaves have fallen, and once again the heat is turned on, at least at night. There will be more meals that stick to our ribs, stews, casseroles, etc. and the occasional hot cocoa. We've already eaten our weight in squash, and soon it will be pumpkin and apple pies.
But before Deep Fall hit here's a few pictures (some snagged from my MIL and cousin Julie, thanks!). By the way I've done a horrible job documenting our lives via photos during the past few months. More often than not I've found myself wanting to play along instead of watching, this is a good thing though.

Picking pumpkins. Grandpa let Robin drive the tractor. He was pretty stoked. I should take photos of our carved pumpkins but the squirrels have gotten to them and eaten their faces off.
Hey a picture of me I don't mind (the only reason I added this one)! Declan is looking pretty good too, and that Abe, ready to jump out of the tractor.
Halloween, posing with some ghosts in town from Scotland. The one on the left is this guy. He knows Belle and Sebastian. Seriously. Declan was Leonard Powers from Ugly Americans, I tried to be a raven but ended up missing the memo about them being all black.
Where was Abe in that last picture? Sleeping in the VW. He woke refusing to put on his robot costume. Marley was pissed. For about an hour all I heard was "all of that hard work for nothing!" Yeah, thanks kid for the reminder. I have to admit I was a little peeved too, but he's three right. He did wear his helmet and really confused people with what he was. Everyone just thought it was a brilliant idea to put lights on his head. It was pretty brilliant, Declan came up with that one. We were always able to tell which kid was Abe when the group was running down or across a street. I'm thinking about posing some Halloween shots, with our mauled pumpkins. By the time I get to that though it will probably be snowing. Oy.
And now look at that, three villains, all with costumes made by their Moms. Fortunately in this pic of Marley you can't see all of the mistakes and we'll leave it at that. She was happy, so much so that she gave me a very heartfelt thank you the night we finished her costume up. Maybe that's why she was so upset about Abe's costume.
And now that Deep Fall is here it is time to get busy working on Christmas Gifts and all things snowy and cold weather related. Today I have a Christmas Stocking class, hard to believe that time is running low for things like this.
